Rate volatility does not make every ARM unsuitable.

A fixed-rate mortgage generally exchanges a potentially higher initial rate for greater payment predictability.
An ARM can offer a lower initial rate while transferring more future interest-rate uncertainty to the borrower.
Neither structure is automatically the better choice.

"What happens to my finances if rates move against me?"
